The goal of St. Paul’s Day School is to provide an enriching experience for Preschool and Kindergarten children. We strive to enhance your child’s emotional, social, intellectual, spiritual and physical growth in a Christian setting of nurturing and love. We encourage individual growth through a variety of developmentally appropriate experiences.
Our mission is to be responsive to the needs of the children and their parents and provide a safe and nurturing environment that empowers students to develop as confident and caring children.
To Support Our Mission
Our curriculum is based on developmentally appropriate practices, goals and objectives of preschool and kindergarten children. These activities include music, art, physical play, dramatic play, early science, pre–math and reading skills, and craft projects. Individual progress is stressed as well as learning to cooperate and share in a peer group situation. Parents are eagerly welcomed into the classroom and are encouraged to help with a project, share an area of interest/expertise, read a story, or just observe the routine of classroom activities.
St. Paul’s Day School was founded as a service to the community of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in 1957 by the women of the parish. The school’s nursery and kindergarten programs serve children ranging in age from two through six-years-of age. Children of all religious faiths are welcome and celebrated. The school is licensed by the state of New Jersey and is an active member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools. St. Paul’s Day School serves children from Union and Somerset counties, including the surrounding communities of Westfield, Fanwood, Scotch Plains, Cranford, Mountainside, Clark and Watchung.
Day School Board
The Day School Board of St. Paul’s was created by the church to develop the philosophy, procedures and policies necessary for the operation of the Day School. It develops and maintains a sound fiscal policy
for the operation of the School. It is responsible for the development and preparation of the budgets, which are approved by the parish vestry. The Board is made up of Day School parents and church members
who are elected at the Church Annual Meeting. The Board consists of committees including Curriculum, Long-Range Planning, Buildings and Grounds, Personnel and Security. Any question regarding the Day School Board should be forwarded to the school director.
