Not Too Cool For School A/C Campaign

St. Paul’s Day School & Kindergarten serves children ages 2.5 to 6 in Westfield, NJ. We are a member of the National Association of Episcopal Schools and operate under the umbrella of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. We are a leader in early childhood education and strive to provide developmentally appropriate experiences and foster a love of learning.

The physical space in which children learn is equally as important as what and how they learn. Unfortunately, only 4 of our 15 classrooms have air conditioning. We aim to maintain our reputation as one of the area’s preeminent preschools by providing an optimal learning environment. Therefore we are launching a capital campaign with the goal of raising $90,000 to support the installation of air conditioning throughout the school. This will provide a healthier, more comfortable environment for all students and staff during warmer months, and a much-needed respite from outdoor activities on hot summer camp days.

St. Paul’s operates as a nonprofit organization, with little excess funds remaining to cover a project of this magnitude. Due to the age of our building and complicated wiring necessary to install units in each classroom, this will require support from our community. The installation of this new system will be done in phases, and we aim to complete it by the end of the 2023-24 school year, in time for camp next summer.
